The books in question were being sold by Club Nook Ltd., a company that is distinct from the charitable organization known as the Captain Tom Foundation.

During a conversation with TalkTV, Ms. Ingram-Moore disclosed that she received £18,000 as compensation for her participation in the Virgin Media O2 Captain Tom Foundation Connector Awards in 2021. This sum was in addition to her regular salary as the chief executive of the organization.
She received £16,000, and subsequently directed £2,000 to the Captain Tom Foundation after the funds were received at her family’s business, Maytrix Group.
