23- Feb – A 48-hour walkout planned for next Wednesday and Thursday in England is called off. It would have included A&E and intensive care nurses. Health secretary Steve Barclay agreed to meet with the RCN’s general secretary. Royal mail strikes cancelled : The Communication Workers Union (CWU) have said that Royal Mail postal workers in Britain called off a planned 24-hour strike over pay next week after the company filed legal challenges.

2nd February :
Over 115,000 members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) will go on strike from 12.30pm on Thursday, February 16th, until before 12.30pm on Friday, February 17th.
The strike was called by the union’s national elected leadership after Royal Mail began imposing unagreed-upon changes to the structure of work at offices across the country.
These decisions have been made in direct violation of the Industrial Relations (IR) Framework established between the union and the employer, the validity of which Royal Mail CEO Simon Thompson re-committed to in a letter dated January 6th.

On the 1st February 2023 thousands of teachers participate in the largest strike day in a decade. The National Education Union (NEU) estimated that up to 23,000 schools may have been impacted.

On a turnout of 53.27 percent, 90.44 percent of teachers in England who participated in the ballot voted YES to starting strike action. On a 58.07 percent turnout, teachers in Wales voted 92 percent in favour of going on strike. In Wales, support employees chose to strike 88% of the time, with a participation rate of 51.30%.
The vote we received from teachers, support workers, and leaders in 23,400 schools throughout England and Wales was the greatest strike vote any union has ever received in the UK.
