From December 6 to December 12, 2022, the Coleshill Weather Station
will be used to figure out how much money residents of Coventry might be eligible for.
If you meet the rules for certain benefits, you will get £25 for every week of very cold weather between November 1 and March 31. If it’s very cold for a week, you’ll get £25.
Cost of Living for Coventry Residents
When it gets very cold in your area, you should get paid within 14 business days. It goes into the same bank or building society account as your benefits.
Your other benefits will not change because you get Cold Weather Payments.
You may be eligible for Cold Weather Payments if you are:
Credit for pension
Income Support
Jobseeker’s Allowance based on income
Employment and Support Allowance based on income
Universal Credit (UC)
Support for Mortgage Interest
There’s no need for you to apply. If you qualify for a Cold Weather Payment, it will be sent to you automatically.
From November 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, the Cold Weather Payment scheme is in effect.
If you have a baby or a child under 5 moves in with you, you have to pay a tax.
Tell Jobcentre Plus if you get Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance based on your income, or Employment and Support Allowance based on your income, and:
Had a baby
You now have a child under 5 living with you.
You won’t get Cold Weather Payments if you don’t ask for them.
If you don’t get your Cold Weather Payment
If you think you should have gotten a Cold Weather Payment but haven’t, tell the Pension Service or Jobcentre Plus.
