The song “Beautiful Day” by U2 was played at the beginning of the show by Kay, who formerly hosted on Radio 1 and is married to Tess Daly.
Vernon Kay is also the host of the new music quiz show “Ten to the Top,” which was created to take the place of the popular “PopMaster” which Ken Bruce took to Greatest Hits Radio.
His new show, which will air on Radio 2, will include performances from the Radio 2 Piano Room as well as a record and album of the week.
